Preparation of the adjacent components
The inspection of the adjacent components (housing and shafts) should include a check of dimensional and geometrical accuracies as well as the surface roughness of the bearing locations. In the case of tapered locations it is also necessary to check the roundness, the taper angle and the straightness of the tapered surface outline.
Check any spacers and precision locknuts that are to be used for parallel alignment and freedom from any burrs or damage. Only perfectly installed parts guarantee the perfect functioning of the high- precision rolling bearings. When mounting in series for high speed applications, it is helpful to divide the tolerances of the housings and shafts into two or three groups.
In this way, by assigning tolerance bands it is possible to achieve the same location or sliding fits as required in the assembly procedure
Detailed information on sorting as standard for IBC high-precision rolling bearings is given in the catalogue IBC high-precision rolling bearings TI-I-5050.0 / D, in section 4 (Tolerances).
